World of Crystals

Crystals are very close to my heart, and I work with them regularly. Work? OK, Play, does that sound better? My friends often ask me if I am ‘crystaling’.

I see my crystals as friends. They help me with my garden, home, work and Fayre. They also keep me company when I sleep and bathe.

Each crystal has its own ‘personality’ and ‘character’. Each crystal is different as it is made from different minerals, thus portraying its own colours, plus each has its own unique inclusions. Just like human beings, no 2 crystals are the same.
Crystals are conscious that they are housed in a crystalline body, just as we are conscious that we are housed in a physical body. We are only guardian or keepers of crystals.
Crystals are not our slaves. So we have to ask them to do things for us or where they want to be placed in the home, car, work, garden etc.
If the crystal does not feel happy, it will either shut down and not work, or move. Yes, crystals do move!

Crystals gather, hold, amplify and release energy.

My crystal series is going to concentrate on a specific crystal, giving you ideas on how to clean and work with them. You will also get a good idea on what to do with the crystal once you have chosen it.

Beauty truly is a need. Even if you are only attracted to crystals for their beauty, allow their sparkling energy to get inside of you and uplift you.

You might even be pleasantly surprised as they stimulate some aspect of yourself, like your imagination, your ideas, or your sense of dreaming. Take it one step further and imagine going inside one of them.

You might receive messages or symbols. Whilst ‘crystaling’ you might even feel healing.
The energy of the crystal has the essence and the beauty if you will tune into them.

Cleaning your Crystals

Cleanse new crystals straightaway, particularly if you intend to use them for healing. Cleansing is not a physical process – rather it is a spiritual ritual. In esoteric terms, crystals absorb and retransmit all energies with which they come into contact. In healing, crystals become receptive to emotional energies.

Cleansing your crystal back to a neutral state ensures that accumulated negative energies are not passed on. This process also re-energises the crystal and ensures that it functions at its highest level.


Let your intuition be your guided: keep the intention in mind that you are clearing away all inappropriate energies and that you are working with purity of purpose.

The following are some different ways to cleanse, purify, re-energise and tune your crystals. Please note that as some crystals are sensitive to heat, light and/or water, not all methods will be suitable for all crystals.

Cleansing with Water – Cleanse your crystals by holding them under cool running water, such as an ordinary bathroom tap for several minutes. As you do so, think about a beautiful waterfall you have seen of visited. Or imagine the waves lapping over your crystal on a tropical beach.
Note: Do not do this ritual with Halite, Selenite, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite or Turquoise as these crystals are sensitive to water.

Stone Clearing and Crystal Clusters– Some stones will clear the negative or unwanted energies from other stones. The best all round crystal for this is Clear Quartz. Place the stone to be cleared on a the “clearing” stone, and leave for 24 hours. Amethyst Bed can also be used- use a large piece, or bed, of Amethyst to cleanse several crystals at once. Amethyst is said to transmute lower energies into the higher frequencies of both the spiritual and ethereal worlds, thereby transforming whatever is placed on it. Leave your crystals on the Amethyst Bed for 24 hours.

Earth Burial – Crystal have come form the Earth. You can bury your crystals in the ground (do remember to mark where you have buried them!). The Earth has a natural magnetic quality which will draw off negativity. Leave your crystals in the Earth for 24 hours.

Resonating Sound – The vibrations of pure sound can quickly cleanse crystals. Purify your crystals with the resonating sound of a bell you love. You can cleanse and purify a roomful of crystals by ringing the bell above them, but the best way is to purify crystals one at a time. Perform this ritual for a few minutes. Another very effective and quick way to cleanse your crystals is by using a singing bowl.

Smudging – Smudge your crystals by burning a wedge of dried herbs and waving the smoke over and through them – proprietary “Smudge Sticks” are perfect for this ritual. You can use smudging to purify a roomful of crystals. Perform this ritual for a 5 minutes. incense can also be used.

Sunlight and Moonlight – Light is the essential currency of crystal healing so re-energise your water-cleansed crystals in sunlight and moonlight for 24 hours – the time of the Full Moon is perfect for this. Your crystals need a day of sunlight and a night of moonlight to re-energise.

It is important to tune your crystals directly after cleansing, purifying and dedicating. Remain in a relaxed alert state. Hold your crystal in one hand and place your other hand over it. Visualise an energy connection between you and the crystal (for example, a ray of white light). Decide on the crystal’s purpose and then say out loud “I intend this crystal to be an effective tool for … (e.g. healing, mediation, dream interpretation

Crystals and Wealth

Pick your selection based on what kind of wealth support you want.

Amber
It helps you to accept change and follow your dreams. It opens up the crown chakra and helps access to ancient wisdom. It purifies the heart and spirit. It aids in the making of correct choices. It is excellent at removing self-created obstacles in life. It transmutes negative into positive energy. It imparts a positive attitude fueled by self-confidence. And so you can see, why is said that amber when used properly, helps to add stability to your life. Powerful stone that makes the body heal itself. Powerful stone for good luck as well as protection.

Aventurine
A power stone: excellent for attracting abundance & wealth. Assists in identifying opportunities and has general abundance energies. Known as the stone of chance or luck.

Bloodstone
In addition to instilling courage, bloodstone is an intense healing stone, balancing the base, navel, sacral, and heart chakras. Helps one see the benefit and patterns of change, and to recognize the benefit of “turmoil prior to perfection”. One must sometimes break down a pattern of old behavior before it can be rebuilt in a healthier way. (=green JASPER dotted with bright red spots of iron oxide)

Calcite
Thought to double the intention of its wearer, i.e., it serves as a psychic amplifier.
Magical crystal that is said to double existing power, strength, health, prosperity, and good fortune. It’s often called ‘the wish stone’. Also enhances intellect.

Cat’s Eye
For wealth and confidence.
associated with power in the face of adversity and the ability — like a cat — to cultivate the instinct of self-preservation during adversity

Chrysoprase
Thought to bring good fortune and prosperity.

Citrine
Citrine is commonly referred to as the merchant’s stone and used to be placed inside cash registers to usher in prosperity. Helps you to keep money once you get it. The stone of success.

Emerald
The Emerald is the Queen of the Heart with deep connections to Gaia (the spirit of the Earth) and several of the Archangels. They tend to grow as small stones, but for their small size, they have extraordinary energies. Emerald personifies the luxury and opulence of the Earth.

Peridot
Visionary stone, brings understanding of destiny & life purpose. Also a money stone: wear it to draw money and opportunity to you. Keep this stone in your cash register too. Don’t overdo it with any kind of lime stone (such as this one), as too much lime causes imbalance.
(Peridot is gem quality of green olivine)

Green Tourmaline
General: Tourmaline is stone of success in all endeavors.
Green Tourmaline: Creativity, prosperity, abundance, compassion. Represents life energy and life force. Excellent for people who work with herbs for healing. Enhances cooperation and healing, especially good at relieving chronic exhaustion, attracting abundance, and expressing creativity.

Jade
Jade has long been revered as a stone of prosperity, wealth, health, happiness, and joy. It is the all around “having a great life” stone, but also has deep connections with heart energies and that of Buddha and Kwan Yin.

Jet
Powerful protector stone. Protect finances.

Malachite
An Abundance stone. With its equalizing and balancing vibrations, it can create an unobstructed path leading to a desired goal. Stone of transformation. Excellent stone for identifying, recognizing and releasing negative experiences, especially one that you cannot recall.

Moss Agate
Ancient belief to make warriors strong and victorious.
Also: draws new friends. Relieves exhaustion. Balances emotions. Gives feeling of freedom, expansion, and space, like a walk in nature. Some mention it as useful in locating hidden “treasure” and for money spells.

Mother of Pearl
Attracts prosperity. protective stone. heightens intuition, psychic sensitivity, and imagination. Sea shells were once used as money in many parts of the world, including Polynesia. Because of this, mother of pearl is often associated with money and riches and talismans to bring wealth are sometimes made with this gemstone.

Opal
Opal is a stone of inspiration which enhances imagination and creativity. It helps one release inhibitions and enhances memory. Opal is also a very spiritual stone, and can help one be “invisible” in situations where they don’t care to be noticed. Opal brings happy dreams. It also eases the process of change.

Pearl
Black and gold are good for prosperity.

Pyrite/Marcasite
Pyrite holds the energies of the Golden Sun within it. It makes wonderful center stone in this grid because the cluster like pieces of Pyrite bounce the energy in such a happy way around the room.

Ruby
Stone of wise choices and noble decisions. Particularly good for helping to make wise financial decisions. The power of ruby is in its encouragement to follow your bliss and to realize your dreams, helping you to change your world.

Tiger Eye
Stone of self-discipline, qualities of the tiger: patient, focused, determined, alert, with perfect timing and slow, deliberate actions. Excellent grounding stone! If you need to make some changes in your life, this is the stone for you!
This stone is best suited to earthy people. It has been used to stimulate wealth and abundance, and to enhance the stability required to maintain wealth and keep it without sub coming to wealth’s “earthly temptations” of greed and abuse of power.

Topaz
Stone of success in all endeavors; inspire and assist in “Lighting the divine light of imagination”. Topaz acts as a catalytic trigger, and activates the laws of attraction and manifestation of your desires. It helps you to have faith in the universes desire to help you, prompting receptivity and willingness to act. It helps one to creatively change ones personal world. Silver enhances the effects of topaz, acting as an additional conductor for topazes energy. Topaz is particularly powerful when combined with Amethyst.

Turquoise
Power stone of truth, to be honest with yourself and to walk your talk. Helps analytical thinking and communication. Opens the heart chakra for giving and receiving. Absorbs negativity. Great grounding stone.

Abundance with Crystals

Every once in a while, the issue of ‘abundance’ surfaces: money worries; job transitions leave them with money hopes and fears; etc etc etc.
Money, wealth, abundance, fear of not having enough indicates a root chakra imbalance.
Once this chakra has been brought into balance it is easier to address higher level chakras right after that.

There are many ways to heal the root chakra. Here are some insights about how to use crystals to stimulate abundance and wealth and rebalance the belief system on related issues.
There is a huge selection of gemstones and crystals that can help you attract prosperity.
Let me introduce them to you one by one, as each has a different set of qualities.
First, allow me to describe how to use them

How to use your Crystals

• First step is clarify your intention. Ask yourself what is this grid for? Sit quietly for a moment. Find your center or that quiet place where you are completely focused and still. Be as specific and clear on your intention as you can be. Remember, the grid will be a tool to amplify these thoughts, feelings and/or intents, so you want to state your intention with absolute clarity.
• The second step is to choose the location where the grid is going to be held.
• Third is to clear that place and yourself from any negative energy that might be in that location. You may burn incense or sage to smudge the area, go around with a bell or singing bowl, or use another cleansing technique.
• The fourth step is to make a grid. A grid helps you focus your intention using the energy of crystals to amplify and manifest that intention. Consider where you are going to locate your grid as you would like your grid to stay intact for a while, undisturbed. There is no right or wrong way. Size and number or stones is up to you. Leave some space between stones. If they roll off, consider that perhaps they are moving to a better position! Follow your instinct. A thought for consideration: use the Rose Quartz as the center stone if you wish to imbue the environment with overall abundance energies.
• The fifth step, once the grid is set up to your liking, is to activate the grid by using a quartz wand and point to the central crystal and then out to each crystal in the grid. Go in one direction, and hold the perfect vision of what you want while you are doing this, not allowing any negative thought come into the process.

How the Angels Guided me

We all sometimes procrastinate and we all at some stage of our lives receive urgent bills that require your immediate attention.

Well, that is where I found myself in April 2006.  Remember, I was guided  by the Angels to start an Holistic Fayre in the Northern Suburbs, but so far I had done nothing.

Then I received an account that required my attention, and I knew I had to do something urgently.

I decided that the quickest way was to sell some of my crystal jewellery to office staff.  So, I packed my car with stock with the intention of going to Montague Garden, but the Angels had other plans.

As my petrol gauge started flashing, I noticed I was on the back road to Durbanville.  Why did I not go to Montague Gardens or Kilarney?  I wondered!  Still no idea as to why I was being lead to an area I did not know at all.

Upon arriving in Durbanville, I remembered someone once said to me:  “If you looking for a venue for the market, ask Estate Agents.”  Would you believe it – right there in front of me was an Estate Agent Office.

Directed to various schools in the area, I did my rounds.  Somehow the venues did not seem correct – parking, hall etc.  Nothing felt right.

Lastly, I walked into the Community Hall through the side door  (which is always locked, but on this occasion it was open).

As I walked in, I just knew, this is it!  This is the venue.  Wow!  I was thrilled!

I quickly went to see the municipality, and booked September, October and November months.  December was not available, neither were dates before.

I came home quite proud of myself, and started putting things into action.
As excited as I was, there were a few friends that questioned my dreams and inspiration.  They suggested all sorts of things about my proposed new scheme, and I was starting to doubt myself.

In May month I connected once again with my Angels, and asked them for help and a sign.  I asked that the sign be a date for July month.  If I could get a date for July, I knew I would be blessed and that I was guided and not my imagination.

Next morning, bright and early, saw me at the Municipality once again.  I confirmed all the dates and asked if it were possible if they had a date available for July month.

Would you believe it – they had just had a cancellation.  This confirmation was more than I needed at the time.  No, there was no date available for August month, remember, I did not ask for one.  Now I knew that the Fayre would be blessed.

On a beautiful warm winter’s day in July month we opened our doors. I was more than nervous and insecure. I am human!  I knew the Angels were with us and we were blessed.

By the time we got to October month, again, friends were telling me what to do and not do.  Some even advised to close down the Fayre.  So once again, I approached the Angels.  And asked them, if I am the right person to do this
Fayre, that if I must continue to give me a date for December.

So bright and early in October 2006, I walk into the municipality office in Durbanville.  I confirm all the dates for 2007 and then the lady asks me:  “I see you do not have a date for December, would you like one?”  I reply:  “if one is available.  Why not?”

She paged through the diary, and says “How about 9 December, would that suit you?”

The hairs on my back stood on end.  Why do I doubt the Angels?  Why do I question their guidance?  Who am I to question them?

Not only did they give me a date in December! They gave me my birthday!  The date for the December Fayre was my birthday.

Since then, I never looked back, nor doubted the Angel’s guidance and advice.  I follow their advice always.
This month we celebrate our 5th Birthday Bash.  Guided by Angel Wings we are growing stronger and strong.

History of About Holistic

How time flies!

It feels like just yesterday when we opened our doors for the first time in the Northern Suburbs.

In February 2006, I was guided to start the Holistic Fayre in the Northern Suburbs.  This made me very nervous indeed, but guided by the Angels, I found the perfect venue.  July 2006 saw us in Durbanville.  I knew this venue was only temporary to help me build confidence and find the right Exhibitors.

February 2008, we moved to our current premises in Bothasig. The Bothasig hall always called me, and I felt right at home and comfortable.  The hall is spacious, has a wonderful courtyard, large foyer, enormous stage with a minor hall and extensive main hall.  The sky- light brought in the much required sun light.  The hall proved to be spacious and quickly filled up with our energy.

Alas, 6 months later, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to move temporarily   to Edgemead Hall, where we celebrated our 3^rd birthday. But we were back in time for Christmas in our favourite hall in Bothasig.

Our 4^th Birthday was celebrated with World Cup Soccer, and today, we are proud to announce our 5^th Birthday Celebrations.

We have now become a regular feature in the Northern Suburbs. Our website is filled to the brim with news and events happening in the area, plus interesting reads, information, and inspirational stories to inspire you.

I have learnt so much from you, our Visitors – our website is very popular indeed, our weekly gazette well read.  Caring and devoted Exhibitors, interesting talks and workshops plus now also our new blog.

I am proud to say, that our mailing list has grown over the years to more than I expected:  all email addresses obtained directly from people who are interested.  Our website is receiving over 600 visits per day.  Somehow I feel the Angels are smiling upon us all, there is even one over your shoulder now, smiling as you read.
